Have you been looking for public domain 3D models for your games or other projects? Not just free 3D models, I mean 100% free with no credit or attribution required. These are pretty tough to find. To help this process I've gathered a list of websites with completely free public domain 3D models.

If you know other websites that are not listed here. Feel free to contact me. I'll try to keep this list updated.

Public domain 3D model websites:

1. 3DModelsCC0

A library of over 250+ public domain high-quality 3D models, licensed as CC0. This website you are currently on is safe to use as every single model has the same public domain CC0 license.

2. Blendswap

Blendswap has at the time writing over 24 000+ 3D models. They vary in quality and come only in a .blend format. So you need to have Blender installed to open these. It is a free open source 3D modeling software. You can find some gems here!

Caution: Blendswap models have multiple different licenses. Remember to check your model has CC0 as a license to use it without credit or attribution.

3. Polyhaven

Polyhaven library currently holds 120+ high-quality 3D models. Everything so far has been listed as CC0 and this should be true for future models as well.

4. GameAssetsGarden

GameAssestsGarden is an excellent resource for prototyping, or maybe even the final product as everything is listed as public domain.

5. OpenGameArt

An old friend, you've probably come across this once or twice if you have been in the game for some time. Plenty of 3D models and all kinds of other resources for game developers some of which are licensed as CC0.

Caution: OpenGameArt 3D models have multiple different licenses. Remember to check your model has CC0 as a license to use it without credit or attribution.

6. Kenney Assets

Kenney.nl is a website with an amazing low-poly 3D model library along with a few 2D sprite packs. Everything is completely free and public domain.

So far these are the only resources I can confirm as public domain. There are plenty of other resources found on the web, but on this list, I will only include those that are 100% confirmed public domain licensed.

If you know more resources, feel free to contact me.
